Description:
Standing at over 16 meters in height by 11 meters in diameter, the DomAquareé aquarium breaks all records as the largest cylinder aquarium in the world. The DomAquareé aquarium holds nearly 1,000,000 liters of water and more than 100 different species of fish. Designed by ICM in collaboration with S. Tchoban, of NPS Tchoban Voss (hotel architect), visitors have the unique experience of ascending through the waters depths as they ride an elevator from the atrium up through the center of the cylinder. Viewers experience an array of colorful corals, rock formations and a myriad of over 2,000 fish. After completion of concept design, ICM began construction in May 2002. As aquarium contractor, ICM was responsible for the design, engineering and construction of the acrylic cylinder, as well as the aquatic filtration system and exhibitry. ICM also provides husbandry and operations services for the AquaDom. |
