Focal point within signature lobby of this upscale office building.
An interior design feature that enhances the ambience of the lobby of the Stinson Morrison Hecker Building, an upscale office complex in Wichita, Kansas, the 31,000-liter aquarium created by ICM is designed to meet the needs of the tank's – and the building's – inhabitants, as well as management company Vantage Point Properties.
Featuring a selection of artificial coral, the ICM habitat represents an authentic Caribbean reef, while providing opportunities for the species within to develop "homes" and safe territories. The resulting realistic design is calming and serene, appealing to building tenants and their guests for its pristine beauty; and to management for its ease of maintenance and cost-efficiency. The ICM team worked with architect Spangenberg Phillips to ensure the aquarium design mirrored, and enhanced, the building ambiance.
While beautiful, the ICM aquarium is also technologically advanced, featuring the latest in aquatic filtration and lighting technology. Computer-monitored control panels enable users to preset determined water parameters (for pH, temperature, salinity, water level and more) that, when breached, place automated calls to specified phones with detailed messages. The programs also can be monitored remotely via the Internet. Aquarium lighting features both day and night settings, providing optimal environment lighting for healthy exhibit conditions.
The exhibit was constructed using an innovative acrylic bonding approach for maximum clarity and strength that can stand up to the harsh saltwater environment. Hands-on training on acrylic care, as well as cleaning and maintenance kits, round out the package of services we provided.
It's all part of our comprehensive, turnkey approach that results in aquatic environments that are built to be beautiful, and stay beautiful.
