Two life-sustaining lagoons cover half an acre.
ICM created a luxurious lagoon for a private palace in a resort area just north of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, adjacent to the Red Sea.
A testament to our client's vision, the comprehensive project now features two life sustaining lagoons covering half an acre, as well as installation of a large, artificial, fossilized aquatic dinosaur. The dinosaur is in a wall partition adjacent to the lagoon, lending a themed tribute to Saudi Arabia's prehistoric beginnings. One of the lagoons features an acrylic window, which dams a wall of the lagoon, creating a magnificent underwater view of the sea life.
The lagoons have a 1,324,750-liter capacity. The life support system we installed pulls 13,247 liters of water per minute directly out of the adjacent Red Sea, at a depth of approximately 31 meters. The water flows through the lagoons and is carefully filtered before returning to the Red Sea – a modern approach to realizing our client's tribute to his homeland's ancient beginnings.
